Congratulations to Singrid Moldestad, winner of Norwegian Grammy for her recording called "Taus."

Spindel started as a duo, with two hardangerfiddle-players Sigrid Moldestad and Liv Merete Kroken. They met as fiddlers-students at the Ole Bull Academy, Voss in 1996 and have worked together since. In 2001 they released their first album "Spindel" and invited the three musicians; Ivar Kolve ( Percussion), Olav Tveitane (guitar/cister/double-bass) and Dagfinn Andersen ( harmonium and piano) to some of their songs. They are now regular members in Spindel and join in at concerts. Sigrid and Liv Merete perform both as a duo and with band. The music is based on the traditional music from western part of Norway, but Spindel also writes new songs and stories.. Spindel came with it´s second album "Aminje" in 2005. Sigrid Moldestad and Liv Merete Kroken are known for their musical companionship and spirit together as they play. They are two of the best young fiddlers in Norway and has played together and as solo-artists with a lot of different styles, genres and people.
